Is Your Tree Full or Empty?

Matt 21:18-22

18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.

20 When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.

21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Jesus Was hungry so he stopped to eat, what are you hungry for and where do you go to get filled.  Even though it wasn’t the season for figs he hoped that he might find some on it. When he found none he cursed the tree. What fruit are you bearing that will nourish those around you? Or like the fruitless tree are you withering away. Amazed by this the disciples ask a question to which Jesus talks about faith the real fruit that pleases God. Jesus goes on to talk about mountains being moved. What mountains do you face? What impossible tasks or problems are in your life? The key isn’t fretting, the key isn’t in figuring it out – the key to the answer – the ONLY – key – is in communing with God, by asking God in prayer. Jesus had a mountain in front of Him and He went to the Father in Prayer.

My Prayer is that you would see the mountain God has removed for you through Jesus Christ the mountain of your Sin.
